ABOUT ME
How I Got Started
I was born in Osijek, Croatia, on February 15, 1968. I completed primary and secondary education in Valpovo, Croatia, and earned my undergraduate degree in Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education, University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek. After graduating, I obtained my teaching certificate in Croatian Language and Literature. I began my career at Valpovo Secondary School and, in September 1993, joined Daruvar Secondary School, later renamed Daruvar Economic and Tourism School. I have dedicated thirty years to this institution.
Throughout my career, I actively participated in various cultural and artistic programs, particularly within the context of 'Lidrano' school competitions. I collaborated closely with the City of Daruvar, where I lead the Daruvar Amateur Theater, author plays, and contribute to amateur acting and directing. Notably, I am the creator of a video, rap song, and arrangement that showcases the culinary profession through an engaging audiovisual presentation, available on the school's website. Moreover, I have been a long-term contributor to the National Center for External Evaluation of Education, evaluated essays in the Croatian Language State Maturity Exam at the national level for over a decade.
Beyond my core subject of Croatian Language, occasionally I teach Ethics. In my free time, I translate literary works from English into Croatian, edit literary works for numerous publishing houses in Croatia, and pen plays, with plans for publication in the coming year. My dedication extends to enhancing my work and fostering collaboration with students through innovative ideas, potential projects, and ongoing self-education. This commitment allows me to maintain a high level of proficiency, ensuring the quality education of students at Daruvar Economic and Tourism School.
